In a first for the beauty industry, The Estee Lauder Companies has announced a partnership with LinkedIn Learning to allow its corporate employees to take self-led, online courses to develop their skills, according to a report published by WWD. Since the collaboration soft-launched in March some 5,800 employees have signed up, and 1,600 courses have been completed so far. A wide range of courses is available, including stages in digital marketing, social media, data and analytics and leadership. “As we started to pay attention to the evolving workforce and the urgency required for rescaling, we knew we needed to make some changes in how we offer learning experiences inside the company,” Alyson DeMaso, Vice President of Global Learning and Capability Building at The Estee Lauder Companies, told WWD.

The Estee Lauder Companies has announced the promotion of two of its senior leaders into key roles. Andrew Ross has been named Executive Vice President, Strategy and New Business Development, and Lisa Sequino will take on the role of Senior Vice President, Global General Manager, Becca, both effective immediately.

Ross joined the company in 2016 and has played an integral role in developing the company’s corporate strategy. Under his leadership of New Business Development, the company acquired both Becca and Too Faced. “Central to our record performance has been our ability to unleash the power of our brand portfolio and our multiple engines of growth. Andrew’s excellent pulse on industry and consumer trends, and his acute ability to identify areas to strengthen and diversify our brand portfolio, has led to the growth of our business through a mix of sound strategic choices and impactful acquisitions,” said Fabrizio Freda, President and CEO. “This promotion celebrates Andrew’s outstanding leadership and his continued efforts in driving the strategy to gain competitive advantage and capture growth opportunities today and well into the future.” Sequino succeeds Bob DeBaker, who will take on special projects for the company, effective October 31.
